CAR NEWS - Feb 2007 EBay Set To Increase Car Sales EBay, the online auction site, is set to increase sales of cars via its US site. The company seeks to expand car sales by a factor of 10 from what it does now. Now US car dealers can set up an online showroom of new and used cars for $1,000 a month plus a fee per sale. Prices are fixed, not bid-able. The expanded service should be live by spring 2007 and has already been tested in cities such as Chicago.
EBay has been able to detect a definite interest in car purchasers from their site data, an interest that they have not seemed to be able to fully satisfy. Now, an expanded car sales section will help to meet demand and boost supply.
